Welcome

Problem Statement

There is no single resource capable of covering all of the issues in Africa. There are numerous subject-related forums and web sites but few of these are related to each other. Further, communications in Africa and access to the Internet are restricted.

Description

“The Africa InfoSphere was designed understanding the scope of challenges facing one of the most volatile, underdeveloped, and strategically important continent in the world. The multitude and diversity of challenges requires a forum where members of the international community, non-governmental, security and development professionals, governments, and Africans themselves can enter into a meaningful dialogue. This site developed to bring people from across multiple communities of interest together to share experiences and build confidence in peace time will better prepare us for times of conflict and disaster. This forum is also designed to be a compendium of knowledge development for the African continent with live links to the internet, webcams, voice over internet protocol, slide shows, and conference rooms.” LTC Shannon Beebe, US Army, USDAO Luanda, Angola
